Boost Your Research – Go Open!
Open Science, just another buzz word to you? Most probably not. You do know about Open Access (either through your funder or through your institution). And you surely have heard about Open Science (think the Human Genome Project, Digital Humanities, NASA Earth Exchange and many others).
To introduce you to the concepts, jargon and benefits of ‘Going Open’, KU Leuven heralds the 2014 edition of the International Open Access Week themed “Generation Open” with a Boo(s)tcamp Open Science on Friday 24 October, with the financial support of the EC.

13.00-13.45 Learn to speak Open – Crash course on the ideas and principles of Open Access (OA) & Open Data for newbies
13.45-14.15 Open Publishing: Open Peer Review & Altmetrics & Inside Tips to get published with BioMed Central
14.15-15.30 Ask the Funders – a panel of funders with an OA mandate will (ERC, FP7/Horizon 2020, BELSPO, Hercules) will gladly answer all your critical questions
15.30-15.45 Break
15.45-16.45 Meet the Experts – Open Science testimonials from the Life Sciences, STEM and Humanities with practical tips on how to open up your research and give it a boost
16.45-17.00 Closing, followed by reception
